It’s no secret that being a male escort is wildly uncommon when compared to the women in the industry. I enrolled in my first escort website at the age of 23, fresh out of uni and in between jobs. The nudge in this direction came from a female college friend -who was also in the business- and who insisted that it was a lucrative one to be in, especially since there was a high demand for it with not enough supply.
It’s been 3 years since I made that decision, and here’s what I’ve managed to learn so far;
- Sex is only an option – This definitely came as a surprise. I understood that most women prioritized emotions over the physical, but I wasn't prepared for amount of women who paid good money for activities that don’t even remotely resemble sexual intimacy. I’ve had my fair share of clients who’d pay me to accompany them to housewarming parties, 5-star dinners, a game of bowling –all to just hug me at the end of the date. Many of these women craved intimacy through the form of a companion, living off their ideal “boyfriend experience” through the hands of a complete stranger.
- Getting emotionally attached is never fun – Back when I was fresh out of uni and new to the escort business, I met the most amazing woman right off the bat. She had been single for about 5 years after going through with a new venture at work, which left her too busy for dating and verrry familiar with male escorts. We developed an intense sexual and emotional connection with one another, which only led me to wanting to see more and more of her as time passed. We kept in touch for close to 9 months before she had to leave for a business trip to Tokyo –and since then completely fell of the face of the earth. This was definitely a lesson that illustrated how amazing the job can be when you’re in the company of interesting people, but also that at the end of the day, it’s all business and nothing personal.
- Burning Out – There is a fine line between pleasure and…completely exhausting yourself. I suppose this comes with the territory for both male and female escorts, but I never realized how deeply it would impact me. Even for a man in my 20’s, I’ve always had a high sex drive, -something that I thought would come in handy during my time in the business- but nearing the 2-year milestone I understood that a sexual burn out was completely possible. So for all the fellow men out there considering going into the escort line; know when to take a break every now and then so it doesn’t feel like you’re dragging yourself to meet clients instead of actually enjoying the company.
Even with all of it’s ups and downs, there’s never been a dull day doing what I do. I see myself in the industry for a long (and definitely) good time!
