Emptying Your Mind After A Work Day

Work can get incredibly tiring throughout the day, not only for the body but, also, for the mind as well and, sometimes, it can be so draining that we just get home and cannot even move or do anything other than just lay down and fall asleep!

There are many ways to unwind after a long day of work, however, unwinding does not mean emptying your mind. When unwinding, you are practically relaxing the brain but, it is not stopping, it is still going, acquiring more information and replacing stress with relaxation.

When emptying your mind, however, you are truly making space for contemplation and serenity, being able to look deeper within and explore what our mind is able to achieve! Even though it all sounds very good in theory, the practice can be a lot harder to achieve than some people might think! In order to empty your mind, you have to accept the present and, truly reach for the mind serenity you are looking for!

Here, we will teach you some ways that you can empty your mind after work!

Meditation
One of the best ways to truly empty your mind after a long day of work is to meditate! Closing your eyes while sitting or laying down and just letting the thoughts come through, acknowledging them and then letting them go as they please, is truly the basis of meditation, along with regular cyclic breathing.

Meditation is all about being in the moment and perceiving that moment, acknowledging it instead of trying to suppress or control it! Don’t try to forcefully empty your mind, instead, let the thoughts that come through be, hear them, watch them, and then let them go like a cloud of dust scattered in the wind.

Yoga
Yoga is another great way to truly empty your mind, however, unlike meditation, here you will get the benefit of physical exercise as well! And yes, it might seem very easy and serene when you watch other people do it, however, some of the poses can truly push you to your physical limits, even though the rewards are always worth it!

When practicing yoga, you are aligning yourself with the earth again, acknowledging the earth and air, still very present in the moment, not thinking about what was or what will be but, instead, let the present manifest itself as it should!

Cooking
Sometimes, when getting home from a very long day at work, one of the things that you truly do not feel like doing is cooking! Especially now that we live in such advanced times where we can just order food straight to our doorstep, it can be very easy to do so, however, don’t let laziness get the best of you!

By cooking, you can truly empty your mind because, after all, you will be focused on the art that is cooking, connecting yourself with your heritage and culture as you cook the flavours that have been enjoyed for generations.

We hope one of these methods truly helps you empty your mind after a long day at work and make your life feel a lot more peaceful and connected!
