How To Increase Your Sex Drive

So, you’re trying to increase your sex drive? Well there are a number of things you can do, from changing your lifestyle habits to being more experimental with your partner; there are countless ways that you can boost your libido and enhance your sex life.

Your mental health:

Work on your self-esteem - The way you feel about your body directly correlates to how you feel about sex. If you’re constantly worrying about your body and how attractive you are, you won’t get lost in the moment and sex will be far less enjoyable. Even if you’re not the most conventionally attractive, your partner obviously finds you attractive or they wouldn’t be having sex with you. It is important that you find the confidence in yourself to love your body, and I guarantee it will drive your partner crazy.

Try and reduce stress – Stress and anxiety can have a catastrophic effect on your sex life. If you’re constantly worried and on edge you are most definitely not going to be in the mood for sex.  It will be good for your sex life, and your health in general to find a way to relieve the stress you feel. Joining a yoga class is always a good idea and if you don’t want to do this there are plenty of YouTube videos of yoga classes that you can follow along with. The same with meditation; it is beneficial for you to take 20 minutes or so out of your day just to relax and reflect. It doesn’t sound like much but learning to be calmer and more at peace will do wonders for your sex life.

Lifestyle choices:

Cut down on the alcohol - Everyone knows that a glass of wine or two can help you let go of your inhibitions and have a good time. However, binge drinking and drinking high volumes of alcohol is not always good for your sex life and for many it can affect their performance.

Get plenty of sleep – It is no secret that those with busy lives often have less sex. If you’re spending all day at work, and then coming home to look after young children, for example, by the end of the day you’re utterly exhausted and would rather catch up on some well-needed sleep as opposed to having sex. This can be a tricky problem to solve, however it is important to try and get as much sleep as you can – take naps whenever you get a spare half hour and maintain a healthy diet so you don’t feel tired all the time. You can also try sleeping pills if you’re really struggling.

Medical alternatives

Go to a doctor/therapist – If all else fails, you can always go to the doctor, this may seem embarrassing but there is nothing to be ashamed off. Sometimes a low sex drive can be a sign of a health problem, such as low hormone levels. If you go to a doctor or a therapist, they will be able to give you some advice and possibly offer you further treatment.
